👀 Microsoft drops the AI kimono

> Lets see how google respond!

👋 Welcome to A.I. Deets - the daily AI newsletter that gives it to you like it is - no mess no fuss no B.S (ok maybe a bit of B.S. but we're only human - yes this is ironically not written by AI!)

Let's get into the deets shall we - this is what's up today:👇👍

Latest A.I. News

Bing with ChatGPT is here!

In a huge surprise (to nobody) - MSFT premiered their newest version of Bing infused with ChatGPT goodness - they also showed a new version of Edge with AI powers! So basically 2 things you've never heard of or used in the same breath! (live blog is here)

Some of the updates to both of these include:

  • Better Search

  • Complete Answers

  • A new Chat experince built in (duh)

  • A creative Spark (AI helping out basically)

  • And AI infused Edge (which actually looks quite cool) with the abilty to query live sites and get sumarries and whole host of goodies

It seems MSFT has moved quickly to update bing and Edge- 2 largely forgotten elements in the search and browser wars. If they can get this right, then they could give Google a serious run for their money and attack that HUGE slice of the advertising pie that Google has held unchallenged for over 20 years now (but you're ever too big to fail - Nokia anyone?)

To access all of these features, you have to join the waitlist - which brings me to an even better part of the update!

FastCompany thinks that MSFT literally blew a golden opportunity to convert millions of people by using a terrible User journey  and some sneaky tactics to get people to sign up including:

  • Giving faster access to people who cahnge thier defaut broswer to Bing?

  • Giving a QR code to let people install the Bing app (that's a throwback to 2000 with coupons and chances to win gold coins - you can't make this stuff up)

That said - they do have time to play catch up and improve these things as people flock to these new services...or will they? Let's wait and see what Google has up its sleeve -will this be enough to "bing" people to MSFT AI services?

 AI Product of the Day

We got 2 today (these arent sponsored BTW)

Starting off with Sheetplus - an AI-supercharged Excel helper! I suck at excel so I'm glad AI is helping out! Sheetplus helps out with those crappy formulas and outputs the right one based on a word-based prompt! I've seen a few of these - interesting to see where these types of productivity AI-based tools lead to!

Illustroke (cool name) - lets you create vector illustrations from prompts. The site gives you multiple look and feel options and lets you choose how many layers you want in your image - Noice
