👀 One Tool to Detect them all?

Plus > AI voice hijacking!

👋 Welcome to A.I. Deets - it's humpday - it's the first of the month (already - gulp) so let's not wait around, shall we?

Let's get into the sweet sweet deets shall we - let's go!

Latest A.I. News

Another day, another OpenAI story (hopefully there will be a competitor out soon so we can talk about someone else) but until then (cue the Sam Altman pics please) it seems OpenAI have heard ALL the worries about ChatGPT and has released their own tool to detect its use (although it's not perfect according to them)

This is hopefully semi-welcome news to all the institutions that are petrified of change ChatGPT and its effect on many different industries and institutions.

It has been trained to distinguish between text written by a human and that written by a variety of AI, not just ChatGPT, and is apparently also "not overly reliable with a detection rate of 26% and it incorrectly labeled human written content as AI 9% of the time"

Cue pic of Sam Altman (and SMH emoji 🤦‍♂️)

So this was bound to happen - there's nothing like releasing tech to the world to see how the general public will use it. Hint - it's not gonna be good!

Elevenlabs (any relation to Stranger Things?) recently launched their Prime Voice AI with text-to-voice technology about a week ago, and it's already being used to clone Cleb voices and create hateful content using them. think Emma Watson reading Mein Kampf or the shamed rick and Morty creator talking about beating his wife. Basically, anything you can think it can more than likely do - Joe Biden announcing war on Russia, Kevin Hart announcing he will never act again (last one we're ok with!) and on and on!

ElevenLabs are now looking at ways to mitigate the negative use of its technology including account verification or manual voice clone verification - let's see what they come up with before we have James Gunn telling us about the entire DC reboot (oh wait that was real!)
