Hugging Face, an open-source AI platform, has partnered with AWS to integrate its generative AI models into the AWS cloud, making them accessible to developers using AWS-managed ML service, SageMaker.

The move is aimed at making AI open to everyone, not just companies with deep pockets, according to Hugging Face CEO Clement Delangue.

Meanwhile, OpenAI's new developer platform Foundry is designed for "cutting-edge customers running larger workloads," but leaked pricing suggests even the lightweight version of GPT-3.5 could cost $78,000 for three months or $264,000 for a year.

It seems OpenAI is becoming the exact opposite of open , with many companies seeing this as a way to gain a competitive advantage over them, and even Elon Musk decrying how "For Profit" they are becoming!

Additionally, ChatGPT isn't always accurate, and there are concerns about the potential for blurred creative lines and destruction.

While there is some optimism about the potential of generative AI, it's important to approach it with measured caution. Investment firms may be taking a bigger risk than they think they are, and it's important not to let hype drive investment without actual revenue data or first-principles analysis.
